With winter approaching it will soon be time to get the chainsaw out again and start getting some sticks cut for the fire. At this stage it is important to have you’re saw prepared and ready to go.
The number one thing is to have a sharp chain. Check for dull edges left from last season. Consider purchasing a sharpening kit to sort this or using our advanced selector to get a brand new chain.
To keep you chain running smoothly some proper lubrication is required. It is important to use chainsaw specific oil like the Oregon Super Saw chain oil. This will keep you’re saw lubricated in the correct places without allowing it to become sticky.
Are you having trouble getting you’re saw started? After sitting dormant for a while the fuel in the tank and the carburettor can go stale. The usual fix for this is to have it stripped down and cleaned in an ultra-sonic cleaner but thankfully we have launched a product from B3C Fuel Solutions called Mechanic in a Bottle. This will flush out and rejuvenate your fuel system allowing you to fill with fresh fuel and go again.
Don’t forget the need to keep safe. Consider a combination safety helmet or these fantastic thermal chainsaw safety gloves to keep you both warm and safe.
